This day was split between two venues that are a few minutes walk from each other. The ceremony was at Skridskopaviljongen, the dinner at Hotel Skeppsholmen and then back to Skridskopavljongen for the party. This wedding was relaxed, fun and beautiful. It was a very good day and night. Stockholm was as beautiful as always.
This is the love story of Jared and Yasmin, told by Jared.
I am English and five years ago I was living in London and working at an agency making websites and Yasmin, who is Swedish, moved to London from Sweden to work as a nanny. We met over Christmas 2010 and within a year she had moved in with me and my flatmate but three soon became a crowd and we eventually moved in together in a flat in Greenwich. We lived there for a few years before buying our own home in the picturesque village of Lidlington, where we put our skills together to start Yasmin’s business – a nanny agency specialising in Swedish childcare.
Around a year ago I surprised Yasmin by asking her to marry me whilst we were on holiday in Cornwall, she said yes. We chose to get married in central Stockholm because it’s such a beautiful city, and we fell in love with the venue, Skridskopaviljongen, it’s surrounded by water but still has the majestic city in the background. The city means so much to us and we want to show the sites and culture off to our English family and friends, most of whom have never visited Sweden.
